Even more cousins

In June the kids got to hang out with their fourth cousins Vajk and Enese in Cleveland. Earlier this month we caught up with their older brothers Keve and Bende in San Francisco.

We went swimming at their grandmother's house in Orinda. Even better than the swimming, Charlotte and Alexander both enjoyed squirting the big water gun. Alexander squirted the water in too many faces, so Keve and Bende's dad Endre set him up squirting the buckets into the water.

And when he was bored of that, he filled up the buckets and dumped them on the older boys. I would have intervened, but he got the idea from watching them do it to each other.

It happened to be the day before Charlotte and Alexander started swimming lessons. Alexander would not get into the water, but eventually fell in as he became more comfortable and less careful. I was worried that this would make it harder to convince him to take the lessons, but I'll post about that later. Charlotte enjoyed the practice and was quite independent in the pool, really for the first time.

Endre helped them pick some Meyer lemons from a tree in the yard. We made some fresh lemonade at home. What a delicious summer treat!

The next weekend the boys biked over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and took the ferry back to San Francisco. They recommend this as the best way to see the sights. After that they came to our place for some pizza and games.
