Is that a real phone?

Our cordless phones were causing some problems, so we used an old non-cordless phone to test the line. It was sitting on the bed when Charlotte and Alexander came looking for me. They didn't know what all the wires were for, so they asked me, "Is that a real phone?" and "How do you use it?"
