Just the two of us

We met in Melbourne, Australia, in 1996. We never actually worked together, but met through our mutual friend Ines on the Telstra project. We had many good times, but only about 3 months to share them.

Getting on that plane to return to the US was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I knew at that point that we would have to see each other again. Little did I realize how much we would see of each other!

We each moved to San Francisco to make that happen. We didn't imagine staying this long, but in many ways it is now our home.

We were married before the days of instant gratification with digital cameras. We had returned to the US before we realized that this was the only honeymoon photo of the two of us in which my eyes were open. St. Lucia was beautiful, but our good times there exist in my memory more than in this photo.

We spent many vacations visiting national parks and other beautiful places. Here we are in Glacier National Park in Montana. Other visits included Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton. There is much more beauty in this world, and I hope that we will be able to see it together.

We didn't just travel to see the world, but also to visit our friends. For a while, we were going to a lot of weddings as well. Here we are in Sonoma at Jen and Doug's wedding and in Toronto at Andris and Moni's wedding.

We were having so much fun that we decided to bring some friends along for the ride. I know.... what were we thinking? =)
