Maria and Bobby at the Easter brunch

I had planned to sneak out after putting the kids to bed, but Charlotte saw the party written on the calendar and was not about to miss it. It started at their usual bedtime, but I decided to take them, and figured that I could bring them home, put them to bed, and go back again if it turned out to be a mistake. They had a few moments of tiredness and Alexander had a slightly glazed expression for much of the night, but they had a lot of fun too.

Charlotte surprised us by turning out to be quite a dancer. We have no idea where she picked up the moves. We didn't teach her, we swear! Alexander got into it as well and seems to have a good sense of rhythm. It was so much fun to see them having such a good time.

The party had a luau theme. Charlotte was very excited to hear that there would be Hawaiian dancers. She laughed hysterically when she saw them. I thought she was just tired and giddy, until I saw them too. Let's just say Bobby has some friends who are very good sports!

The kids were in bed by 10, which is very unusual for them. I thought they would sleep late this morning, but we were hearing footsteps by 6:30! Anyway, it was a fun night with good friends, well worth missing a bit of sleep.
