If you're going to San Francisco...

...be sure to come in September when the weather is beautiful.

Grandma and Grandad Webster arrived from England on Thursday. We were all very excited for their visit as it had almost been two years since we had last seen them. They joined us in cheering for Charlotte at her soccer game this morning and in touring San Francisco this afternoon.


Our friends Kati and Matt arrived today. It was lots of fun to catch up, and great to have old friends with whom to share the good weather and beautiful scenery. (Kati, I say "old friends" only because Kindergarten seems like such a long time ago!)


The children were also excited to see Kati néni and Matt bácsi. They were especially grateful for the Hello Kitty and Mater lunchboxes that toured San Francisco with us today.


And what better excuse could we have for keeping the kids up late than to have them experience a beautiful sunset with friends and family?

I played my first official soccer/football game this Saturday. It almost didn't happen because it rained all night and morning, but luckily it cleared up just in time. I was so happy that Daddy came to watch me play. He even saw me score a goal!

Another athlete in the family

Now that Jaja is playing soccer, you might think she is the athlete in the family.

Maybe she is the soccer player, but I am the track and field star. Just watch me master the obstacle course in my Pee Wee Sports and Movement class.

Our own Glitterati

There is much excitement in the Webster household, knowing that costumes are being crafted by the Halloween fairies who live in Avon Lake, Ohio. In anticipation of the coming holiday, we had to make something ourselves.


Lesson learned: Three-year-old + Glitter = Bathtime!

Keszepapa rocks!

Here's a picture of Jaja and me with my Keszepapa at Alta Plaza Park this spring. His company was thoughtful enough to send him to the Bay Area at the last minute so that we could have some family here to celebrate Easter with us. (This is the same company that sent him to Disney World for a few months. I will have to get him to put in a good word for me in 20 years.)


What's a Keszepapa? Well, most people say Keresztpapa (godfather), but it doesn't quite come out that way for me. Anyway, only I get to call him Keszepapa. Jaja calls him Pák bácsi, or PákaWáka when she can get away with it. Mummy just calls him Pák and Daddy calls him Paul. The people in this family have too many names. It's very confusing.

Just a few days ago I said to Mummy, "I miss my Keszepapa and I want him to come visit us again."

Football, Soccer, Futbal, Foci,....

....whatever you call it, it's still just a bunch of kids running around after a ball....

I had my first soccer practice today. It was so much fun. I love soccer!

My friend Marina, who is behind me in the photo, invited me to join her school's team. We're the Star Hawks. Everyone was very nice and welcomed me right away.

We did some drills and had a practice game. I didn't even mind when I fell. I just brushed myself off and kept going.

Lions and Hippos and Giraffes, oh my!

When we went to the zoo last week, we wore these awesome t-shirts that Daddy's sister Auntie Tracey sent us from her visit to South Africa last year. Mine has a giraffe on it. I don't know how she knew that the giraffe is my favourite animal!


Here are some giraffes that Auntie Tracey saw on safari.


Alexander's t-shirt has a hippo on it. He says that lions are his favourite animal, but he really likes hippos and zebras too. It's appropriate that he prefers wild animals!

We love Auntie Tracey, but we don't see her very often because she lives in England. She is a teacher and sometimes she sends us new books. Most recently she introduced us to books by Julia Donaldson. We think the best ones are: The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo's Child, and The Snail and the Whale. Mummy says that she enjoys reading the stories too.
