Happy Thanksgiving

We'd like to wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to our family and friends. We are thankful for each one of you and appreciate your love and support.













Charlotte told her class that she was thankful for the beach. We haven't actually been able to go to the beach due to the oil spill. These are some beach photos from September.

If you'd like to see what he looks like now, check out the photos of "SGT Strada" from his Awards Ceremony (last picture) and his Spur Ceremony (first picture). We're particularly happy about these ceremonies, because they mean that Robi Bobi bácsi gets to come home very soon!


The army sent him to Iraq and he has been there for over a year. We're very proud of him, but we've also been concerned for his safety. It will be a relief to know that he's back in Alaska in the next couple weeks. And then we'll be so happy to see him in Cleveland after Christmas!

More Halloween

Our class Halloween party was a lot of fun too. After lunch we all dressed up in our costumes, had some yummy snacks, and enjoyed extra Choice Time. Mummy helped my friends and me get into our costumes, so Alexander was able to come along to the party as well.

Here are some long-awaited shots of the kids in their Halloween costumes. Many thanks to Najm for stitching up their favorite animals: a giraffe costume for Charlotte and a lion costume for Alexander.


There isn't really much trick-or-treating in our neighborhood, so we went to Pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf after school. Some of the shops and restaurants had candy for the kids, so we did our trick-or-treating there, and came away with two bags full.













We can't go to Pier 39 without riding the carousel, so we did that too. It wasn't the most traditional Halloween celebration, but we had lots of fun.


I remember many Halloweens being so cold that we had to cover our costumes with our winter coats or try to stuff our coats under our costumes. It was fun to enjoy them in the sunshine.

No horsin' around

When Keszepapa visited us, we took him to see the Steinhart Aquarium. We saw lots of fish, of course, but also snakes and turtles and sea stars. We were just in time to see the penguins being fed as well.













After lunch we went to ride the Zeum Carousel at Yerba Buena Gardens. They had many unusual animals to ride. I rode a camel both times. Guess who chose a giraffe?

Blue Angel of my heart

Pák bácsi came to visit during Fleet Week, so we took him to see the Blue Angels fly over the San Francisco Bay. (You can see Alcatraz Island in the lower right corner of the above photo.)

We walked over to Alta Plaza Park, played at the playground until we heard the planes overhead, then found a seat in the grass on the side of the hill.

The Blue Angels were so low at times, that we could read "U.S. Navy" on the underside of the planes. Of course, they also flew by so fast that our camera never quite caught them that close.

Happy Halloween!

You might recall that the lion is my favourite animal. Guess what I wanted to be for Halloween?

Thanks to Najm for making my costume. Everyone at my preschool was so impressed. I can't wait to show it off at Jaja's school tomorrow. We'll have more pictures soon.
